2.0: THE YEARBOOK OF LIBRARIES SPANISH 2009
The Alonso Quijano Foundation, an institution created in 2000 and dedicated to the promotion of reading, recently published by the Library English Yearbook 2009. The main priorities of the Foundation are, among others, the implementation of projects to promote reading, the organization of training activities in the field of reading and international development cooperation.
The Alonso Quijano Foundation, an institution created in 2000 and dedicated to the promotion of reading, recently published by the Library English Yearbook 2009. The main priorities of the Foundation are, among others, the implementation of projects to promote reading, the organization of training activities in the field of reading and international development cooperation. One of these tasks is the drafting and publication of this yearbook that in this edition, has enjoyed the cooperation of a scientific committee of over thirty people, who comes from the environment of libraries and the book industry. This publication is nearly 500 pages to complete the important work carried out by the magazine release My Library , and says very clearly the critical role that English libraries are doing in promoting and encouraging reading .
The Yearbook presents a comprehensive study of English library scene, and becomes a useful tool to better understand the work of various library systems in Spain. We has attracted attention to the Yearbook section dedicated to blogs, including in the chapter entitled "Sources of Information" in the section with so-called "Resources for Librarians."
Librarians get batteries and penetrate without any fear or hesitation in the digital world of social networking and Wikinomics, while for booksellers and publishers in the digital universe is still a maze you dare not enter, or who despise ignorance. Without going into demagogic disquisitions on what is or is not a digital book, librarians are demonstrating that "sensitivity wiki" so necessary to successfully navigate the world of social networking and the blogosphere , language and jargon that the librarian knows to not only meet but hang out and master if you want to talk the same language as their actual and potential users. This section on blogosphere as a resource library includes a list of the following types of blogs: "Blogs

-associations and institutions in library and documentation.
The chapter is completed, and is welcome, with a ratio (provisional but rigorous) posts of related items to the library, under the publishing world and the field of animation for reading.
Another chapter worth mentioning, and worth of cards, is devoted to "Resources for users", which relate to digital libraries in five major ranges:
-thematic digital libraries.
-digital libraries of institutions. Digital Library
-personalities.
-digital libraries document types.
-specific digital libraries.
A rigorous, effective and very useful work done by the Fundación Alonso Quijano to the Yearbook, and the finding that the librarians of Spain have been and remain one of the most advanced professional bodies in new technologies applied to the book and the promotion of reading.
